ay 1: Puno – Uros Islands We’ll come and pick you up from your hotel in Puno at the agreed time, and we’ll head to the port ready to board a boat which will take you directly to the famous floating Uros Islands. After approximately 30 minutes, we’ll reach these man-made islands. Did you know that the Uru people constantly add to these islands, using the lake’s reeds as their main resource? The locals will welcome us and explain all about how they construct the islands and about their way of life. You’ll enjoy a delicious lunch to replenish your energy and then we’ll set off in a reed boat and we’ll go fishing. Following age-old methods, we’ll release a net into the lake and during this trip, you’ll also learn more about how the locals fish, how they cut the reeds, and you’ll learn about the biodiversity in the world’s highest navigable lake. We’ll then return to the island to enjoy a delicious dinner, and then it’ll be time to head to bed and enjoy the unique experience of sleeping on a floating island! Day 2: Uros Islands – Puno On the second day, we’ll wake up early and go and collect the fishing net that we left the day before. Once we’ve collected this, we’ll head back to the island and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast, we’ll set sail back to the port of Puno and we’ll return to your hotel at around 10 am. 2-Day Uros Island + Taquile Trip If you want to see even more of Lake Titicaca, you can extend your trip by also visiting Taquile Island on the second day. In this case, after breakfast, we’ll set sail to Taquile Island, in the middle lake. You’ll be able to explore the main square and enjoy incredible panoramic views of the lake and its surrounding mountains. You’ll also be able to explore a local market, learning more about the island’s traditions and cultures. Then, after enjoying lunch in a traditional restaurant, we’ll set sail again back to the port of Puno. When you book this option, you’ll have the choice between booking a speed boat or a normal boat. With the normal boat, you’ll arrive back at your hotel at around 5:30 pm, whereas with the speed boat you’ll arrive at around 3:50 pm.Includes
