Description

The day before your departure, pick-up from your hotel in downtown La Paz will be arranged. The bus to Uyuni will leave around 8:00 pm. Around 5:00 a.m. the following day, you will arrive in Uyuni, where our operator will be waiting for you to provide you with all the necessary indications for the tour. Afterwards, breakfast will be served (at the passenger's expense). The adventure will begin with a visit to the Salar de Uyuni, including a stop at the train cemetery, an open-air historical museum that exhibits locomotives that once gave life to the town of Uyuni, located about 1 km from the city. Continuing our tour, we will head to the town of Colchani, where salt is mined. Here we will visit a micro-factory of salt refining, where you can observe mounds and blocks of salt. You will also explore the local market, where you will find handicrafts made with salt, as well as llama or alpaca fiber textiles. Next, you will enjoy a delicious lunch on Incahuasi Island, an amazing place in the middle of the vast salt flat, populated by giant cacti that reach more than 100 years of age. After lunch, you will have time to explore the island and capture spectacular photographs from its summit, with 360-degree views. Continuing our tour of the salt flat, we will arrive at the isolated area of Atulcha, which resembles a large island. Here you will find a small and famous hotel built with salt blocks, as well as furniture also made of this material. We will return to Uyuni, where you will have the rest of the afternoon free until the designated time to board the bus back to La Paz.
