Discover the highlights of the Route of the Sun and the beauty of Lake Titicaca on a 2-day tour from Cusco. Visit the Church of San Pedro Apostol, the Temple of Wiracocha, and the Pukara Museum. Explore the Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island. Day 1: Route of the Sun Depart from Cusco and head to the Church of San Pedro Apostol in Andahuaylillas. Often called the 'Sistine Chapel of the Americas,' the church is known for its beautiful frescoes and murals. Continue to Raqchi to explore the Temple of Wiracocha, an impressive Inca ruin. Stop for lunch in Sicuani before heading to La Raya, the highest point of the journey, offering breathtaking views of the Andes. Visit the Pukara Museum, renowned for its pre-Inca sculptures and pottery, before arriving in Puno. Day 2: Lake Titicaca – Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island Arrive in Puno and transfer to the port to begin the Lake Titicaca tour. Depart for the Uros Floating Islands and explore the islands. Engage with the locals, who will share the history and construction of the reed islands. Sail towards Taquile Island and arrive at Taquile. Walk to the main square while discovering the local culture, textiles, and traditions. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the lake before returning to the Puno port. Depart on the overnight bus back to Cusco and arrive in Cusco the next morning.
