Description
We will make a 2 day mountaineering journey surrounded by history and connection with the Andean world. We start the first day in the morning from San Pedro towards the border with Bolivia, where after approximately 2.5 hours we will cross, carrying all the documentation, passing through the famous Hitocajon Pass, to enter the eastern part of the volcano, from the Bolivian side, where the Laguna Verde is located. At this point we will spend the night in a refuge with beds. After settling in we will have the option to take short hikes to acclimatize to the 4,300 meters of altitude where we will be visiting the surroundings of Laguna Verde. Spending the night at this altitude together with a good hydration will help us to acclimatize better as well. We will have dinner and rest for the next day. The next day we wake up at approximately 3am, depending on conditions and head to 4,600 meters, in our vehicle, where we will begin the hike to the summit. After 6 to 7 hours of walking, with trails and stretches with small loose stones, we will reach the summit, reaching the 5,916 meters of this beautiful summit. We will observe the lagoon inside the crater, the highest in the world, as well as panoramic views that we will never forget for their beauty and sharpness. We return after a rest and lunch. After 2 to 3 hours of descent we will be already in base, to prepare last details and return to San Pedro in 3 hours approximately.Includes
