DAY 1 Puno - Uros - Amantani 8:00 AM Floating Islands of the Uros After being picked up from your hotel and transferred to the port of Puno, we will depart for Amantani. Our first stop will be at the artificial islands of the Uros, where the local inhabitants will explain their way of life. The Uros people construct their islands using reeds called Totora, adding a new layer every 20 days to keep the islands afloat. Uros artificial island 1:30 PM Homestay on Amantani Island, Lake Titicaca Upon arrival, the people of Amantani will welcome us and guide us to our respective houses. We will have lunch with a local family, and afterward, they will invite us to participate in various daily activities on the island, providing insights into their culture and traditions. Locals welcoming travelers 4:00 PM Hike to Pachatata Viewpoint, Amantani We will embark on a short hike to the highest point of the island, passing through various fields. Once we reach the top, you can admire the majestic hill where rituals and offerings of gratitude and respect to Mother Earth are still performed. There is also a viewpoint called 'Pachatata' that offers a stunning view of Lake Titicaca and its islands during sunset. Pachatata amantani sunset 7:00 PM Arrival Festival Dinner will be served at the home of our local family, followed by a celebration known as the 'peña' night, featuring traditional music and dances to mark our arrival on the island. After the festivities, we will spend the night on Amantani. Locals and travelers in traditional clothes DAY 2 Amantani - Taquile - Puno 8:00 AM Tour of Taquile Island After breakfast, we will travel to Taquile Island and embark on a hike uphill to the main town. Along the way, you can enjoy stunning views and see agricultural terraces. Upon arrival, you will learn about the islanders' sheep wool treatment technique and observe the art of weaving and spinning. Traveler and sheep in Taquile 12:00 PM Lunch and return to Puno Lunch will be served at a local community restaurant on Taquile Island. Afterward, we will return to Puno, arriving around 4:00 PM. To conclude our Amantani and Taquile Island Tour on Lake Titicaca, a minibus will drop us off at our hotel.Includes
