Description

Day 1: Puno - La Paz We will pick you up at 9:00 a.m. from the meeting point in Puno to cross the border between Peru and Bolivia. During the journey we will make a stop so you can have lunch on your own and we will continue by road to La Paz. Around 3:00 p.m. we will arrive in the Bolivian capital. Here we will see its cable car, the most important in South America, which travels aerially through the city to the urban center. In this area we will take a brief guided tour through the colonial neighborhood of La Paz and along 16 de Julio and Mariscal Santa Cruz avenues to the San Francisco church and Murillo square. The Cathedral of Our Lady of La Paz and the Legislative and Government Palace are located here. Afterwards, we will leave you time to have dinner on your own and, at 8:00 p.m., we will take the bus to Uyuni. Day 2: Salar de Uyuni - La Paz We will arrive in Uyuni in the morning and we will walk to a place so you can have breakfast on your own. Next, we will take a 4x4 vehicle that will take us to the emblematic Uyuni salt flat, the largest salt desert in the world. Along the way, we will stop at the Uyuni train cemetery, an authentic open-air museum where you will see the first locomotives that circulated in Bolivia. We will disembark from the 4x4 in the town of Colchani, very close to the salt flat. Here we will see how salt extraction works and we will visit the Playa Blanca hotel, built entirely with salt blocks. We will stop to have a regional lunch that will consist of a starter, main course and infusion, and then we will enter the desert until we reach Incahuasi Island, located in the heart of the salt flat and in which its enormous cacti are the main protagonists. You will have time both in Incahuasi and in the salt flat to take photographs before returning to the town of Uyuni. Here we will also give you free time to rest, shop and dine on your own, and at 8:00 p.m. we will move to the bus terminal to take the transportation back to La Paz. Day 3: La Paz - Pomata - Juli - Puno At 5:00 a.m. we will arrive in La Paz, where we will take a bus to Desaguadero to cross the border between countries again. In this town we will take you to a place to have breakfast on your own, and then we will leave for the Peruvian municipality of Pomata. Here we will visit the colonial temple of Santiago Apóstol, one of the most beautiful religious buildings in the area, decorated inside by prominent Cusco artists. We will continue towards Juli, we will visit the temple of San Juan de Letrán or Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. After visiting these two towns, we will return to Puno and meet you at the starting point at approximately 1:00 p.m. night bus This tour does not include accommodation, but the round trip by bus between La Paz and Uyuni takes place at night, so you will sleep on the bus.
