Description

We will pick you up at the meeting point in Puno at the indicated time, we will head south until we cross the border with Bolivia to reach Copacabana. Before leaving for the Isla del Sol, we will go to the Copacabana Sanctuary to see it. In the port of Copacabana we will board a catamaran that will take us through the waters of Lake Titicaca to the legendary Isla del Sol. During the crossing, we will offer you a snack on board so that you can recharge your batteries. We will disembark in Yumani, at the southern end of the legendary Isla del Sol. We will explore this area considered the cradle of the gods responsible for the origin of the Inca empire. We will visit some of the archaeological remains of the Incas, including an impressive system of terraces known as the Garden of the Inca. We will climb the famous Inca Steps to reach the Sacred Fountain where underground streams of water of three different flavors converge, considered by locals as 'the fountain of youth' for its supposed healing properties. Our next stop will be the impressive Inti Wata Complex, the main private tourist attraction in Bolivia, to which only tourists who visit the Isla del Sol have access aboard catamarans. This attraction includes the Ekako Underground Museum, the Centers for Traditional Medicine and the Construction of Totora Rafts, a craft center, the Intica refuge, a Botanical Garden of Inca agriculture and a variety of Andean camelids. Next, we will discover what ancient Andean navigation was like by strolling aboard a typical reed raft. From the boat, we will get an impressive panoramic view of the Pilkokaina Palace. After discovering the secrets and legends of the Inca civilization, we will return to the port of Yumani to board the catamaran again that will take us back to Copacabana. Afterwards, we will have a delicious buffet lunch on board. The meal includes quinoa soup, different salads, trout with Dijon or chicken in its sauce, with spring rice, sautéed potatoes or cooked banana, and dessert (ice cream or fruit salad). Once in Copacabana and with our energies recharged, we will head back to Puno, where we will arrive 11 hours after the pickup. Tour ending in La Paz When booking, you have the option to book the tour ending in La Paz. In this case, we will travel by bus from Copacabana to La Paz, ending the tour at approximately 7:00 p.m.
