Description
1-Day Sun and Moon Island Tour – Itinerary
We will begin our Sun and Moon Island Full-Day Tour with a hotel pick-up in Copacabana around 9:00 AM. From there, we will walk to the Port of Copacabana to board a shared local boat. (Your professional bilingual guide will accompany you throughout the tour.)
We will cross Lake Titicaca (approx. 2 hours) to reach Moon Island, where we’ll spend about 1 hour exploring the archaeological site of the Temple of the Moon and the House of the Virgins of the Sun.
Next, we’ll sail for approximately 50 minutes to the northern part of Sun Island. Here, we’ll visit several significant Inca sites, including the Footprints of the Sun, the Chincana (an ancient Incan tunnel or labyrinth), and the Ceremonial Table. This portion of the tour will also last about 1 hour.
We then continue with a 35-minute boat ride to the southern part of Sun Island, where we’ll explore the Pillkokaina Temple (Temple of the Sun). Afterward, we’ll descend the ancient Inca steps of Yumani, leading us to the Fountain of Eternal Youth and the Inca garden.
- Lunch will be available in Yumani (not included in the tour price). A typical menu costs around 60 BOB.
Finally, we’ll return by boat to Copacabana, with an estimated arrival between 5:45 PM and 6:00 PM.
