Description
Day 1:
First we start with the pick up in Uyuni, then we will go to the train cemetery to see the old locomotives.
Then we will go to the community of Colchani (the gateway to the Salar) where we will find rustic craft workshops and the rustic table salt microprocessor.
Continuing with the expedition to the majestic Salar de Uyuni we will make stops to see the salt extractions, the eyes of the salt flat and the Playa Blanca Salt Hotel that currently only functions as a museum.
Later we will visit the most popular island of the Salar located in the middle of the Salar, the Incahuasi Island, where we will take a walk and appreciate large expanses of cacti, marine rock fossils and spectacular 360° views from the viewpoint.
At the end of our tour, we head to our accommodation in the salt flat to rest.
Day 2:
The day begins with breakfast at the salt accommodation. We set off towards the Ollague volcano viewpoint, to be able to appreciate a desert volcanic landscape and the sparse vegetation of the high Andes.
Then we will visit the Chiarkota lagoon, the Hedionda lagoon (named for the smell of sulfur), the Onda lagoon, the Ramaditas lagoon. These lagoons are surrounded by flamingos that use them as feeding and resting points during their migratory movements and at noon they enjoy lunch on the way.
We continue our journey towards the Siloli desert where the stone tree (strange rock shape) is located. We continue our way towards the Laguna Colorada, which draws a lot of attention for its reddish color. Continuing, we arrive at the town of Huayllajara where we will enjoy dinner, and we will spend the night in a family accommodation in the community (Basic Accommodation).
Day 3:
The day begins very early in the morning with breakfast and the departure towards the fumaroles and cracks in the earth through which volcanic lava and sulfurous gases come out.
Continuing the tour we will arrive at the hot springs (waters beneficial for curing arthritis) where you can bathe and rest, the water has a temperature of 25 to 32 °C.
We continue the trip through the second desert of our Salvador Dali tour, which has an excellent panoramic view and resembles this desert landscape.
Then, we arrive at the green lagoon (the high mineral content gives it its characteristic color), located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano (5,916 meters above sea level).
Then we head to the town of Uyuni making stops to visit Villa Mar, Valley of the Rocks, the town of San Cristóbal, its Stone Church and finally we continue to finish our tour in the town of Uyuni.
