Description
Ascent of an easy 5000m peak near La Paz, the Andean metropolis in Bolivia. With less than an hour's drive from the Cumbre Pass in the direction of Coroico, we already reach the Andes. Next to a large reservoir, we start our ascent into a lonely mountain area. Despite the proximity to the metropolis of La Paz, we are likely to be completely alone here.

sky. Further down, there are fertile Andean valleys and intensely
colored lake eyes. Humans are unlikely to be found here, but llamas
are very likely to be present.
The landscape could also be imported from the central chains of the Eastern Alps
but the peaks are much higher. But they are

There is almost always a scree slope on at least one side where any climbing sections can be avoided.
In addition to the huge city of La Paz, there is plenty to see all around.
Ascent description
Our mountain can easily be climbed from La Paz as a day tour.
A little way past the checkpoint, the first reservoir comes into view.
The mountain regions here are extremely important for the water supply of La Paz.
La Paz's water supply. Almost all the higher mountain lakes
are used for water extraction. Here too, therefore, the
melting of the glaciers is a cause for great concern.
On the left-hand side, just behind the lake, you can see wide tracks.
here is our starting point. The trail immediately climbs steeply,
first on a good path, but after a short time it turns into a narrow path.

the first mountains quickly appear in front of us, interesting fellows with
dark, wild rock formations.
A black rock pyramid looms directly in front of us, which we head for.
head for it.
Now an even higher mountain becomes visible, which we climb with easy steps. From Illimanie to Huayna Potosi, many of Bolivia's highest 6000m peaks can be seen here. Even Sajama, over 300 km away, can be seen.
The descent leads past a picturesque mountain lake, after which a fun slide down the steep scree slopes to the starting point awaits us.
