Description

Starting point: Uyuni City - Bolivia Finishing point: Main Square San Pedro de Atacama - Chile Day One / Train Cemetery + Uyuni Salt Flats + Incahuasi island + Hotel in Ajencha. Depart from Uyuni City at 10:30am towards the salt flats in 4x4 WD cars. First, tour the Train Cemetery to observe the remains of the locomotives from the eighteenth and early twentieth centuries (The perfect place to take artistic photos). Then, reach the town of Colchani to appreciate the salt production and take a short walk through the artisan market and museum. Later, the immense Salar de Uyuni at an altitude of 3,663 m.a.s.l., which extends over an area of 12,000 km². Along the journey, visit: Ojos de sal, Salt Hotel-Museum (built entirely of salt blocks), Dakar Monument, Flags of the world, and finally, arrive at Incahuasi Island to appreciate the beautiful view and the giant cactus. At the end of the day, take your time at sunset with a glass of wine and arrive at the hotel for dinner. Day Two / Chiguana + Ollague viewpoint + Andean lagoons with flamingos + Red Lagoon After breakfast, go to visit the famous lagoons: Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarcota, with many flamingos. Later, an exquisite lunch, Siloli desert, Stone Tree. At the end of the day, arrive at Red Lagoon, which is inhabited by numerous flamingos, within these species there are 3 varieties: Chilean, James and Andean. Finally, head to the hotel in the community of “Huayllajara” for dinner, and rest Day Three / Sol de Mañana Geysers + Hot Springs Pool + Laguna Verde - Laguna Blanca - Lincancabur Volcano Viewpoint + Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama Very early in the morning, after breakfast, go to the “Sol de Mañana” geysers and enjoy a fantastic view along the way; this place has volcanic activity such as fumaroles and geysers (bubbling mud holes, smoking and a sulfur smell). Also, visit the Polques hot springs to take a bath and relax enjoying the most beautiful landscape. Then, the Salvador Dali desert, which offers spectacular views and multi-colored rock formations of the volcanoes. Later, go up to the viewpoint of Laguna Verde, Laguna Blanca and the Lincancabur Volcano. Finally, tour guides will assist clients with their border crossing at 10:00 a.m. and people will arrive in San Pedro at 1:30 p.m. on the third day of the tour. **Sometimes people need to pay a fee at the border with Bolivia (15 Bolivianos) please bring cash. The drop off is at the main square in San Pedro de Atacama at 1:30 p.m. IMPORTANT INFORMATION *During the rainy season (January to April), it is not possible to access Incahuasi Island. We may also sleep in a different place due to road access.
