Before leaving to the Island of the Sun, we will visit the Sanctuary of Copacabana to get to know it. At the port of Copacabana we will board a catamaran that will take us across the waters of Lake Titicaca to the legendary Island of the Sun. During the crossing we will offer refreshments on board. We will disembark in Yumani, at the southern end of the legendary Isla del Sol. We will explore this area considered to be the cradle of the gods responsible for the origin of the Inca empire. We will visit some of the archaeological remains of the Incas, including an impressive system of terraces known as the Garden of the Inca. We will climb the famous Inca Stairway to reach the Sacred Fountain where subway streams of water of three different flavors converge, considered by the locals as 'the fountain of youth' for its supposed healing properties. Our next stop will be the impressive Inti Wata Complex, Bolivia's main private tourist attraction, which is only accessible to tourists visiting Isla del Sol aboard catamarans. This attraction includes the Ekako Underground Museum, the Traditional Medicine and Totora Raft Construction Centers, a handicraft center, the Intica shelter, a Botanical Garden of Inca agriculture and a variety of Andean camelids. Then, we will discover how the ancient Andean navigation used to be by taking a ride aboard a typical totora reed raft. From the boat, we will have an impressive panoramic view of the Pilkokaina Palace. After discovering the secrets and legends of the Inca civilization, we will return to the port of Yumani to board the catamaran that will take us back to Copacabana.
