Description

Explore the floating islands of Uros and the natural islands of Amantani and Taquile on a 2-day tour from Puno. Enjoy a homestay with a local family, and learn about the customs and traditions of the local people. DAY 1: Start your tour with a pickup from your hotel in Puno and transfer to the port. Board a boat and head to the floating islands of Uros. Learn about the history of the islands and the customs of the local people. Continue to the natural island of Amantani. Meet the locals and enjoy a family lunch. In the afternoon, hike to the Pachatata and Pachamama temples and enjoy a panoramic view of the sunset over Lake Titicaca. Return to the main square where each family will be waiting for you to return to the accommodation and have dinner together. In the evening, participate in a show prepared by the locals to share their customs and traditional music. DAY 2: After breakfast, head to the port to head towards Taquile Island. Upon arrival, begin a walk uphill for approximately 40 minutes towards the main square of the island. Visit the textile museum, its colonial church, and more. Then, have lunch. As a drink, it is traditional to drink coca or muña tea, which are very good for avoiding altitude sickness and stomach pain. Enjoy free time to take photos before beginning the descent towards the port to board the boat and begin the return journey to the main port of Puno.
