Description
Day 1 (Puno - Uros - Amantani)
We will pick you up at 5:00 am at the bus station to start this incredible adventure. From the pier in Puno, we will set sail to the Floating Islands of the Uros, where you will meet its inhabitants and learn about the ancestral techniques of totora reed construction, a cultural legacy that has endured through time.
Our journey continues to the island of Amantani, a place full of charm where you will be received with great hospitality by the locals. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, you will enjoy a picnic lunch in a spectacular natural setting. After lunch, we will begin a hike to 'Pacha Tata', the highest point of the island, to enjoy panoramic views of Lake Titicaca as the sunset tints the sky with vibrant colors.
When night falls, a traditional dinner with the host family awaits you, where you will taste typical local dishes prepared with fresh ingredients from the region. After dinner, you will participate in a lively Folkloric Show, with traditional music and dances that will allow you to immerse yourself even more in the culture of Amantani, while wearing typical costumes of the area.
Finally, you will spend the night with a local family, sharing stories and enjoying the serenity under a starry sky.
Second Day (Amantani - Taquile - Puno)
Start the day with a delicious breakfast in Amantani, saying goodbye to your host family and thanking them for their warmth and hospitality. Afterwards, we will head to the charming island of Taquile, where you will be greeted with a warm welcome. Upon arrival, we will begin a walk to the Main Square, from where you will have a breathtaking view of the lake and the island, surrounded by landscapes that will leave you in awe.
In the main square, you will have the opportunity to learn about the culture of Taquile through an exhibition of its famous weavings. The talented local weavers will show you their ancestral techniques, used to create their beautiful garments, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The dedication and artistry you will see in each weaving reflect centuries of tradition and cultural identity.
After the exhibition, you will enjoy a picnic lunch in a stunning natural setting, surrounded by panoramic views of Lake Titicaca. The authentic flavors of the region will accompany you as you relax and contemplate the majesty of the landscape. Then, we will descend to the island's main dock, where you can enjoy the friendliness of the locals as you walk the last stretches of the island.
Finally, we will board the boat back to Puno, navigating the crystal clear waters of the lake while reflecting on the experiences we have had. Arrival in Puno around 16:00 hrs, end of the tour.
