Description

Day 1: Overnight Bus Trip from Cusco to Puno 09:30 PM: Transfer to the bus station. 10:00 PM: Departure on the overnight bus to Puno. Enjoy reclining (bed-type) seats and onboard service. It’s recommended to bring a light blanket. Day 2: One-Day Tour of Lake Titicaca This tour begins at 08:00 AM with a transfer from your hotel to the Port of Puno, where you will board a motor boat to begin your visit. The first destination will be the Floating Islands of the Uros, in Lake Titicaca, where there are more than 50 floating islands, although you will visit only two. On the first island, the guide will provide an explanation about the inhabitants of these islands, and then you will have free time to walk around, take photos and explore at your own pace for a little over an hour. After this visit, you will continue by boat to the island of Amantani, where you will spend the night in a local house. Upon arrival at the island's port, you will meet the host families, who will escort you to their homes for accommodation and lunch. In the afternoon, the families will guide you to a meeting point for an optional hike to the Pachatata Temple, located at 4150 meters above sea level (13,600 feet). In the evening, the families will organize a party for the visitors, who can dress up in typical costumes of the island (optional activity). Day 3: Amantani Island & Return to Puno The next day, after breakfast, the families will take you to the port to say goodbye before continuing the journey to Taquile Island. The last destination of the tour will be the island of Taquile, known for being the home of “the best weavers of Peru”. There you will enjoy a pleasant hike that will take you to the main square, located at 3950 meters above sea level (12,960 feet), where you will have free time to explore the handicraft stores and see the island's weavings. You will also visit a local family to learn about the culture of Taquile. Then, you will continue the hike to the second port of the island and return to Puno, ending the tour around 3:30 PM and arriving in Puno 10:00 PM: Departure on the overnight bus back to Cusco. 05:00 AM (next day): Arrival in Cusco.
