Description

Charquini stands at 5,390 meters (17,650 feet) above sea level, located in the La Paz department of Bolivia. It is one of the most accessible mountains to enjoy snow during the rainy season and to take in the beauty of the surrounding peaks. This tour offers a two-hour hike uphill, followed by a one-and-a-half-hour descent. It is recommended for acclimatizing and getting some light exercise. On this one-day tour, we will reach 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) at the Emerald Lagoon on the southern face of the mountain. Itinerary 8:00 a.m. – Meeting at the meeting point 8:30 a.m. – Departure towards Charquini Along the way, we will stop for photos at: Apacheta Pass Colorful Lagoon Milluni Cemetery 10:30 a.m. – Arrival at the base of Charquini Trek to the glacier and Emerald Lagoon We will enjoy a spectacular view of the Emerald Lagoon and the snow-capped Charquini. Afterwards, we will descend back to the vehicle. 3:30 p.m. – Arrival back in La Paz, Bolivia.
