Description
Day 1
Our journey commences with a visit to the Train Cemetery, showcasing antiquated locomotives from the coal era, followed by Colchani town known for manual salt processing, crafts, and the Salt Museum. We then enter the expansive Uyuni Salt Flat (12,000 km²), where we encounter salt piles, salt extraction sites, the Playa Blanca Salt Hotel, and the renowned Incahuasi Island with its towering giant cacti and coral stones. Continuing our adventure, we proceed to spend the night at a hostel in San Juan.
Day 2
Departing at 08:30, we embark on a scenic journey beginning with the Salar de Chiguana, followed by a visit to the Ollague Volcano viewpoint, an active volcanic site. We then explore the highland lagoons of Cañapa, Chiarcota, and Turquiri at an average altitude of 4,300 meters, where wildlife such as flamingos and vicuñas can be observed. The day continues with a visit to the Siloli Desert to witness the famed Stone Tree and other natural rock formations shaped by erosion. By afternoon, we arrive at Laguna Colorada (4,300 meters), renowned for its diverse wildlife including flamingos and vicuñas, before settling in for the night at Huayllajara hostel.
Day 3
Our final day begins early at 05:00 am, setting off to explore the geysers and active volcanoes of SOL DE MAÑANA at an altitude of 4,900 meters. Here, visitors can marvel at fumaroles and boiling lava temperatures reaching 90°C, followed by a relaxing dip in the hot spring pools of Polques amidst the surreal landscape of the Dalí Desert. Later, we visit the striking green and white lagoons nestled at the base of the Licancabur volcano, culminating our journey with a visit to Laguna Verde. The return trip to Uyuni commences, spanning approximately 7 hours with stops for lunch and a visit to the rock valley in the Mallcu Villa Mar sector. Our journey concludes at 5:00 p.m.
