Description
Your guide will pick you up at your Uyuni hotel at the agreed time and travel to the Uyuni Salt Flat, one of Bolivia's most iconic landscapes. The first stop is the train cemetery, an open area filled with rusted locomotives that tell the region’s industrial history.
Next, visit Colchani, a town on the edge of the salt flat. Here you will tour a salt processing plant to learn about salt properties and see crafts made entirely from salt.
At midday, enter the salt flat, which covers more than 10,500 square kilometers and contains 60% of the world’s lithium reserves. Explore the Ojos de Sal, underground saltwater springs, and observe the salt extraction process. You will have one hour to enjoy a local meal on the salt flat.
After lunch, visit the first hotel ever built from salt. Then proceed to Incahuasi Island, known for its giant cacti. You will have 40 minutes of free time to take photographs and explore.
The tour concludes with watching the sunset reflected on the salt flat before returning to your hotel in Uyuni, arriving approximately nine hours after pickup.
