This two-day tour offers an experiential journey to Lake Titicaca’s islands, focusing on cultural immersion with the Quechua communities of Amantaní and Taquile. Visitors learn about local traditions through direct interaction with residents known for their hospitality and simplicity.
The itinerary includes a hike to the island’s highest points where the Pacha Tata and Pacha Mama temples are located. From these vantage points, travelers can observe expansive views of Lake Titicaca and experience the sunset. Accommodation is in family homes on Amantaní Island with basic services—no electricity or drinking water available.
Itinerary
- Day 1
- 07:30 am: Transfers to departure point
- 08:00 am: Departure to Taquile’s floating islands
- 08:30 am: Visit Uros floating islands en route to Amantaní
- 1:00 pm: Arrival at Amantaní Island
- 2:00 pm: Lunch with a local family
- 4:00 pm: Walk to Pacha Tata and Pacha Mama temples
- 6:00 pm: Dinner and overnight stay at local family home
- 8:00 pm: Cultural evening event (Peña) for visitors (1 hour)
- Day 2
- 7:00 am: Breakfast
- 8:00 am: Departure from Amantaní Island
- 9:00 am: Arrival at Taquile northern port and walk to town
- 10:30 am: Visit main square of Taquile
- 11:30 am: Lunch (not included)
- 12:30 pm: Return journey to Puno
- 3:30 pm: Arrival at Puno port
