Itinerary
The tour begins with a pickup from downtown Potosí, followed by a stop at the Mining Market. Here, you can purchase traditional offerings such as dynamite, alcohol, and coca leaves to gift miners during the visit.
The mines are located at the base of Cerro Rico (Rich Hill), a site with a longstanding mining tradition. Inside the mines, the mining system remains largely unchanged despite decades of exploitation.
You will explore various galleries and underground levels, observing miners’ statues representing local deities such as 'The Uncle of the Mine' (the devil). The tour also includes viewing mineral veins, chimneys, and experiencing miners’ work methods and environment firsthand.
