Itinerary
Day 1: Depart La Paz by bus at 9:00 p.m. from the bus office (check-in at 8:30 p.m.). Onboard services include dinner (meat and vegetarian options), breakfast, bottled water, hot drinks, heating, toilets, polar blankets, and first aid kit.
Day 2: Arrive in Uyuni at 7:30 a.m. After free time to refresh and purchase supplies, meet at the office one block from the bus station. The tour starts at 10:30 a.m., visiting the Train Graveyard, Colchani salt miners’ workshops, salt handicrafts, “Ojos de Agua Salada” saltwater springs, the salt hotel-museum, and Isla Incahuasi. End the day with sunset on the salt flats before arriving at Atulcha town for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: After breakfast at 7:00 a.m., visit Ollagüe Volcano lookout, the rocky road “El Pasito Tuntun,” and the Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiarcota Lagoons, home to flamingos. Enter Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve to see the Siloli Desert, Rock Tree, and the Red Lagoon. Overnight stay is at a hostel in Huayllajara.
Day 4: Early start at 5:00 a.m. to visit Sol de Mañana Geyser, hot springs, Dali Desert, Green Lagoon, and White Lagoon near Licancabur volcano. Cross the Bolivia-Chile border at Hito Cajon with guide assistance by 10:30 a.m., then continue to San Pedro de Atacama arriving at 2:00 p.m. Drop-off is at the town’s main square.
