This full-day tour departs from La Paz and visits the Tiwanaku archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient cultural center dating from 500 to 900 AD.
Explore Tiwanaku's seven main structures: Kalasasaya temple, the semi-subterranean temple, Akapana pyramid, Kantantika, Kerikala, and Putuni. See the carved stone monoliths and the Gate of the Sun, then visit the onsite museum to view artifacts and learn about pre-Incan civilization.
After Tiwanaku, travel to Huatajata, a village on Lake Titicaca, the second-largest lake in South America and the highest navigable lake in the world at over 3,800 meters above sea level.
Enjoy a traditional Bolivian lunch before visiting the Reed Boat Museum to discover how artisan totora reed boats are made. Finish by sailing on one of these reed boats across Lake Titicaca’s clear waters.
