Description

The tour begins at 10:30 a.m. with a drive to the Uyuni Salt Flats. The first stop is the Train Graveyard on the outskirts of Uyuni, where you’ll see Bolivia’s earliest locomotives and learn their historic role connecting major cities. Over time, salt wind corrosion has created a distinctive setting ideal for photography.

Next, visit Colchani, a small settlement famous for salt miners’ workshops. Here you can find handicrafts made from salt, as well as textiles crafted from llama and alpaca wool, suitable souvenirs to take home. While cruising the vast salt expanse, you will wade through “Ojos de Agua Salada” (salt water eyes) and visit a unique hotel built entirely from salt, currently operating as a museum and restaurant. Other stops include the Flags of the World display, where you may add your country’s flag free of charge, and a Dakar racing monument.

Lunch is served near Isla Incahuasi (Fish Island). Afterward, hike to the top of the island to see large cacti and rock formations made of petrified coral.

In the afternoon, organize your group for creative perspective and proportion-distorted photographs on the white salt surface, providing fun and memorable shots.

The tour concludes with a spacious viewpoint to watch the sunset spread colors across the Uyuni Salt Flats, accompanied by a glass of wine.

Note: From late December to late April, rainy season conditions can prevent access to Incahuasi Island. During this period, the Mirror Effect is visible instead.
