Description
Day 1: Train Cemetery – Colchani – Salt Hotel – Incahuasi Island
Begin at the Train Cemetery to see historical locomotives. Proceed to Colchani, gateway to the Salar de Uyuni, to explore handicraft workshops and local salt production. Continue across the Salar to observe salt extraction sites, natural “eyes” of the salt flat, and the Salt Hotel Playa Blanca museum. Visit Incahuasi Island to walk among giant cacti, sea rock fossils, and enjoy panoramic 360° views. Overnight at a salt lodge.
Day 2: Ollague Volcano – High-Altitude Lagoons – Siloli Desert – Stone Tree – Laguna Colorada
After breakfast, travel to the Ollague Volcano viewpoint for volcanic desert scenery and high-Andean flora. Visit Chiarkota, Hedionda, Onda, and Ramaditas lagoons, habitats for flamingos during migration. Lunch on the route. Explore Siloli Desert with its Stone Tree geological formation. End the day at Laguna Colorada, noted for its red hue. Dinner and overnight stay in community family lodging at Huayllajara.
Day 3: Fumaroles – Polques Hot Springs – Green Lagoon – Valley of the Rocks – San Cristóbal – Uyuni
Start early and visit volcanic fumaroles emitting lava gases, then relax in the Polques thermal springs (25-32°C), known for therapeutic properties. Travel through the Salvador Dalí Desert with unique landscapes. Visit the Green Lagoon at Licancabur Volcano’s base, known for its mineral-rich waters. Stop at Villa Mar, the Valley of the Rocks, and San Cristóbal with its Stone Church, before returning to Uyuni town to conclude the tour.
