Description
The day begins 30 kilometers outside the city at the historic Church of Chataquila, connected to indigenous leader Tomás Katari. From here, a 2-hour hike follows a pre-Hispanic elevated trail with panoramic views. Along the way, discover medicinal plants like muña and wira wira, and end the hike in the village of Chaunaca.
After the hike, private transport takes you to the Maragua Crater. Visit artisan homes in the Jalq'a village to observe traditional textile craftsmanship. Explore points of interest including the Santa Ana viewpoint, the local cemetery, and the Devil's Throat, each reflecting the community’s cultural heritage.
Enjoy a boxed lunch with the crater as your backdrop. Later, travel 25 minutes to Niñu Mayu to explore fossilized dinosaur footprints for about two hours, providing a glimpse into prehistoric times.
