Description
This guided day trip from La Paz explores the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat on Earth, and nearby attractions suitable for all travelers interested in nature and culture.
The journey begins with a bus departure from La Paz at 9:00 PM. The bus includes dinner, breakfast, bottled water, hot drinks, heating, toilets, a fleece blanket, Wi-Fi, and a first aid kit for passenger comfort.
Arriving in Uyuni at 7:30 AM, you have time to purchase snacks and supplies before meeting at the local office. The tour starts at 10:30 AM, visiting the Train Cemetery on Uyuni’s outskirts, then the salt craft village of Colchani.
You will cross the salt flats, stopping to photograph the 'Saltwater Eyes,' visit a salt hotel now operating as a museum-restaurant, and see the Flags of the World—bring your own flag to add for free. Lunch is served along the way.
After lunch, hike to the top of Incahuasi Island to view giant cacti and petrified coral rock formations. Group members then have time to take perspective-distorting photos on the white salt surface.
The tour concludes with a sunset over the salt flats, accompanied by a glass of wine, before returning to Uyuni between 7:15 PM and 7:45 PM.
