Potosí Active Mine Tour – Half Day Discover the fascinating world of Cerro Rico and experience the reality of an active working mine accompanied by a bilingual guide. Meeting Point – Downtown Potosí Meet your guide at the main entrance of the Casa Nacional de Moneda de Potosí. The tour departs at 9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m., depending on the option selected when booking. Mining Market Before entering the mine, visit the traditional Mining Market, where you will learn about the materials and products used by miners in their daily work. You will also have the opportunity to purchase optional gifts for the miners, such as drinks or snacks. Cerro Rico – Active Mine Continue to Cerro Rico, the legendary mountain that has played an important role in the history and development of Potosí. Before entering the mine, you will receive the necessary safety equipment, including a helmet, boots, protective clothing, and a headlamp. Accompanied by your bilingual guide, enter an active working mine and explore its underground galleries. Learn about the miners' daily working conditions, mineral extraction, tools, techniques, and traditional working methods that continue to be used today. During the experience, discover the traditions and beliefs associated with mining life and gain a deeper understanding of the culture surrounding Cerro Rico. Return to Our Office in Potosí After approximately 3 hours, leave the mining area and return to our office in Potosí, where the Active Mine Tour concludes.
