Description
The tour begins with pick-up from your hotel or a meeting point in Santa Cruz. If you wish, we can first stop at Hipermaxi so that you can stock up on snacks and drinks for the day – this way, you will be completely independent later on.
The first real stop is at the El Torno market: Here you will see the real Bolivia as it looks in everyday life. We'll buy fresh local fruit – possibly things you'll never find in the supermarket.
Then comes the highlight of the trip: the river crossing. My 4x4 crosses the river – a refreshing descent when the water level is low, a bit of a challenge when it's high.
Important to know: In the rainy season, the river crossing may not be possible due to the weather. In this case, the alternative route via Porongo and through the forest is planned. However, if the river crossing and thus the booked main route cannot be provided, you can choose between the alternative route and a full refund.
Our destination is Espejillos Waterfall, a hidden gem in the foothills of Amboró: crystal-clear water cascading over rocky ledges, surrounded by tropical greenery. Time for photos – and to cool off: next to the waterfall there are numerous natural pozos, deep swimming holes in the rock that invite you to take a dip on hot days.
Bring swimming clothes and a towel.
For nature lovers with good physical fitness: The tour option 'With a vantage point hike' extends the day with a demanding hike to the vantage point high above the Amboró National Park. The view over the rocky cliffs and the green sea of the jungle valley is spectacular – the hike takes you through steep, rough terrain and is only recommended from May to September.
Simply choose the right option when booking, and I will honestly advise you in advance whether it is suitable for you.
Included are pickup and return trip from Santa Cruz, all transportation by 4x4, and my German-speaking tour guide.
Admission fees are charged transparently on site.
I have been living in Bolivia for seven years myself and drive this route regularly – you are not traveling with a catalog, but with someone who is at home here.
