Itinerary

Day 1: Uyuni City – Colcha K

Begin the tour with a visit to the Train Cemetery in Uyuni, showcasing abandoned locomotives from the region’s industrial past. Continue to the community of Colchani to learn traditional salt extraction and refinement methods.

Enter the vast Uyuni Salt Flats, stopping at the bubbling Ojos del Salar saltwater springs. Visit the Dakar Monument and Salt Pyramids, ideal for photography against the white expanse. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the endless horizon.

In the afternoon, explore Incahuasi Island, home to giant cacti over 10 meters tall. End the day with sunset views over the salt flats before proceeding to Colcha K village for overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Colcha K – Huayllajara

Early morning departure to the Ollagüe Volcano viewpoint to observe this active Andean volcano. Visit Cañapa, Hedionda, and Honda Lagoons, home to flocks of pink flamingos. A picnic lunch is served in this high-altitude setting.

After lunch, cross the Siloli Desert, stopping at the Stone Tree, a gravity-defying sculpted rock formation. Arrive at Laguna Colorada (Red Lagoon), a crimson lake and flamingo sanctuary. Overnight stay is in the remote village of Huayllajara.

Day 3: Huayllajara – Uyuni City

Before dawn, visit the Sol de la Mañana Geysers, featuring fumaroles and boiling mud pools. Relax at the Polques Hot Springs with warm mineral-rich waters surrounded by Andean scenery.

Continue to the Green Lagoon at Licancabur Volcano’s base, passing through the surreal Salvador Dalí Desert. After lunch en route, return to Uyuni. Optionally, continue onward to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile.
