CHOLITAS WRESTLING SHOW
Get ready for one of Bolivia's most unforgettable experiences!
Travel to El Alto (4,100 m / 13,450 ft), where tradition, culture, and adrenaline come together in an extraordinary live show unlike anything you'll find anywhere else in the world.
MEETING POINT:
Meet us in front of the COCA MUSEUM, just steps from the famous WITCHES' MARKET in downtown La Paz. Our local guide will accompany you throughout the entire experience.
TRANSPORTATION:
We will use different types of transport depending on the days of the week.
TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS:
Travel by private bus (approx. 40 minutes) to El Alto and visit one of the city's iconic Cholets—vibrant architectural masterpieces that symbolize the success, identity, and pride of the Aymara people.
MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS:
Begin with a scenic ride on the Purple Line cable car, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views over La Paz. Then continue by private transport to the HOUSE OF THE CHOLITA WRESTLER, an exclusive cultural space created by the LIDER company.
Here you'll discover:
- The history of the traditional cholita attire.
- The meaning behind each garment and accessory.
- Colorful spaces filled with culture, stories, and surprises before the show.
SUNDAYS:
Unlike the other days, this venue is mainly attended by local families and passionate wrestling fans, creating an energetic atmosphere where you'll experience the show just as Bolivians do.
Expect louder cheers, greater crowd interaction, and an even more vibrant environment that makes every match feel unforgettable.
THE SHOW:
Watch the legendary Cholita Wrestlers, women who transformed discrimination into strength and became symbols of resilience, identity, and female empowerment in Bolivia.
Enjoy spectacular acrobatics, theatrical performances, and plenty of action, together with exciting men's wrestling matches inspired by the Andean philosophy of CHACHAWARMI —the ancestral balance between complementary masculine and feminine energies.

Please check your booking date carefully, as the logistics, show location, and type of transportation may vary. In some cases, two types of transport are used (cable car and bus). This is to avoid traffic.
Wear comfortable and warm clothing, as El Alto is at high altitude and temperatures can be cold.
For your convenience, we can drop you off near the bus terminal or at nearby locations before reaching San Francisco.
We will also be happy to help you arrange a taxi at the end of the tour.
