Uyuni - Colchani - Salt Hostel - Incahuasi Island 6 stops 1 Train Cemetery It is a cemetery of trains, of locomotives. And it's so big that it seems like every train in South America was moved to Uyuni, Bolivia, to take its last drink. 2 Colchani Just outside the salt flats of the Salar de Uyuni is the picturesque salt processing town of Colchani. During your stop in Colchani, you can see crafts made from salt and textile art made from llama and alpaca. 3 Uyuni Salt Flats It is considered one of the most extreme and notable views in all of South America, if not on Earth. This beautiful, otherworldly terrain serves as a lucrative mining site for salt and lithium, 4 Dakar Monument The Salar de Uyuni, one of the tourist gems of the Andes, awaits its stage of the Dakar Rally for the fifth consecutive year 5 Incahuasi Island One of the highlights of a tour of the Salar de Uyuni is a hike around the spectacular Incahuasi Island, otherwise known as Inkawasi. 6 Salar de Uyuni After witnessing the sunset, we will go to the hotel made of salt blocks where we would spend the night. DAY 2 Ollague Volcano - Siloli Desert - Red Lagoon 4 stops 1 Ollagüe is a stratovolcano in the Andes on the border between Bolivia and Chile, primarily made of andesitic lava flows. 2 Siloli Desert Properly acclimatize before visiting the world's highest desert at a dizzying 15,000 feet Dusty, barren and desperately isolated, many wonder if they have reached the end of the world. 3 Stone Tree A Psychedelic Oddity, This 22-Foot Stone Tree 4 Laguna Colorada Somewhere, the saline wonders of the plateau, the lake and its population of almost extinct flamingos make for an otherworldly landscape. DAY 3 Polques Lagoon - Laguna Verde - Laguna Blanca - Uyuni 4 stops 1 Morning Sun Geyser, best seen in first light. Boiling mud pools abound, while the strongest geyser sprays pressurized steam up to 160 feet 2 Dali Desert Named after the surrealist master himself, the Dali Desert is famous for its worldly landscapes. The shades of brown and ocher contrast sharply with the deep blue sky and the snow-capped peaks of the nearby volcanoes. 3 Laguna Verde Located beneath the ominous Licancábur volcano is one of the most colorful attractions in Bolivia. Although not as green as it was years ago, the lagoon still boasts a vibrant hue and spectacular surroundings. 4 Licancabur Visitors will pass many volcanoes on the tour, but none are as threatening as Licancábur. This 19,555-foot (5,960-meter) behemoth can be climbed by energetic tourists for an additional fee, but keep in mind that NASA has conducted experiments at the summit to prepare for future missions to Mars, so the environment is not exactly hospitable to human life.
